Our objective in the Children’s Ministry is to assist parents as they raise their children in the Christian faith. From the first time a child is brought to church, it is our desire to build God’s principles in each young life. It is our prayer that God will enable parents to provide a loving Christian home for their children and that He will give us wisdom and guidance to complement their efforts with the best children’s program any church could possibly offer.
Sunday Morning Activities
Each Sunday morning, children from 1st to the 5th grade gather for Sunday School. A combination of Bible study and activities reinforce the biblical truth that Jesus is of paramount importance in each life.

Gopher Buddies
Word Of Life Gopher Buddies and Awana Club meetings are brimming with life-enriching experiences for young people! Trained leaders guide children in age-appropriate material. Children learn that God is real, that He loves them, and that He has expressed that love through Jesus Christ. They also learn how to apply the truths of the Bible to their daily lives. The goals of Gopher Buddies and Awana Clubs are to reach boys and girls for Christ and train them to serve Him.
Royal Ambassadors also meet on Wednesday night. The RA program is a Bible-centered, church-based, Southern Baptist, mission education organization for boys in grades 1-5.
Wednesday nights are special times for the children at Gunpowder Baptist. There is always something going on and there is definitely a place for you and your family.

Special Events
A number of exciting activities are planned for children throughout the year. These special times enable children to bring their friends to fun activities in a safe environment.
The summer months bring Vacation Bible School and a number of day-camps and activities designed for children.
